Dual Company Outside Sales Role

Action Supply & Star Wipers has been a leading Safety & Janitorial Distributor since 1983.  Seeking an experienced, results and goal oriented, outside sales representative with a desire to learn, grow and be challenged within our organization.  The company distributes a variety of items including safety, spill control, wiping materials, and facility maintenance.  Our quality suppliers include but are not limited to:  3M, Honeywell, MSA, Kimberly Clark and Spilltech to name a few.

Areas of Responsibility – This position is responsible for delivering profitable sales volume through assigned customers and/or territory. Develop existing customer relationships and develop new customers in assigned markets and implement activities and strategies that increase sales and increase market share within the territory. The assigned territory is based in the Charlotte area and encompasses surrounding states.  The following duties will be essential to the success in this position:

  • Capable of developing and managing relationships with customers and vendors.
  • Minimal overnight travel, which also includes to our other locations in Newark OH and Pittsburgh PA
  • Working in the field, home office and company office located in Gastonia NC
  • Learning a vast product line with some product groups having technical elements
  • Develops and execute strategic territory plans with management to grow market share within assign territory
  • Ability to call on and create new business opportunities with customer that are not doing business with Action Supply and Star Wipers
  • Directs sales forecasting activities for assigned territory
  • Using a consultative selling approach, determines the customer needs, develops marketing plans to support customer growth
  • Always maintains a professional attitude and working relationship within the company

  • Previous outside sales experience required, minimum 3 years
  • Proficient in Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint software
  • Strong interpersonal skills and decision-making
  • Effective and professional communication and organization skills
  • Ability to execute a consultative selling process with company owners and leaders to drive optimum performance results
  • Possession of critical, creative, and strategic thinking skills required to solve complex problems
  • Desire to continuously learn, train, and grow from both a personal and professional development standpoint
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Candidate will be required to live within the assigned territory

Full-time, Commission plus salary commensurate with experience
